Microburst hits Phoenix, power knocked out at Chase Field - CBS 5 - KPHO:

"It was another memorable night at Chase Field.

One day after winning the division and clinching a playoff spot, the lights went out at Chase Field and caused a half-hour delay in the Diamondbacks game against the San Francisco Giants.

Power company APS announced that a microburst hit Phoenix and caused the outage, as well as others in the area.

There were reported power lines down on Sherman Street near 19th Avenue. An APS spokesperson told CBS 5 News that somewhere between 12 and 15 poles were down.

As of 9:30 pm, APS reported that power to 492 customers had been repaired out of 1,104.

Strong, swirling winds were also visible on the telecast of the Arizona State football game in Tempe.

APS advised to always assume downed lines are energized and stay away.

Stay tuned to CBS 5 News and kpho.com for the latest on this developing story."
