Excessive heat can lead to muscle cramps; Valley doctor shows some remedies

Excessive heat can lead to muscle cramps; Valley doctor shows some remedies: " Excessive heat can lead to muscle cramps which means it's even more important to stretch before you hit the gym or track.

According to Dr. Kris Dugger, with Ascension Chiropractic in Scottsdale, the average person may sweat up to two gallons every day in these hot temperatures.  The loss of nutrients, combined with dehydration, can lead to muscle cramps.

When we sweat we lose essential nutrients, according to Dugger. "Potassium, magnesium and calcium," said Dugger.

Try to eat foods which are rich in these nutrients, such as bananas, nuts, and dairy."
