Mohave County prepares for flash floods - CBS 5 - KPHO: "We may be in a drought, but the Mohave County Board of Supervisors is looking ahead to flash floods and the destruction it can cause.
The Today's News-Herald reports the board Monday handed out $4.8 million for flood-control projects in communities throughout Mohave County.
Lake Havasu City Director of public works Mark Clark said the $2.5 million awarded the community would support the Kiowa Drain project, pegged to cost about $750,000 to $1 million; the Pima Wash project; and Mockingbird Wash improvements, each at $500,000; and
six or seven wash projects.
Kingman was awarded $855,000 and Bullhead City received $1.3 million for flood control."
