Phoenix area could see storms this weekend; hail possible: "There will be a 50 percent chance of potentially severe thunderstorms and scattered rain throughout the Phoenix area on Friday and Saturday.
The storms could produce damaging winds, heavy rains, lighting, small hail and blowing dust as they come in from California and Nevada and travel southeast across Maricopa County. The first sign of the storm's arrival will probably be scattered rain and clouds on Friday afternoon.
"As we go through time things will start increasing in potential throughout the weekend," said Valerie Meyers from the National Weather Service, adding that Saturday will have the greatest chance for severe weather."
