Think holidays and lights - East Valley Tribune: Chandler

Think holidays and lights - East Valley Tribune: Chandler: "Sure, it's 100 degrees now, but Chandler wants you to start thinking about holiday festivities. The city is asking residents to enter the 22nd annual Parade of Lights, which allows individuals and groups to contribute to the pageantry of the show.
All parade entries will be decorated with colorful holiday lights and entered into a competition for best musical or dance group, community group, automotive group, business, animal, mascot and biggest and brightest. The parade has been sanctioned as an official Arizona Centennial event, so there's also a competition for parade entries that best celebrate the state's history.
Parade entries are due Oct. 28, and participants must attend a Nov. 9 pre-parade meeting. Entry forms are available at www.chandleraz.gov/special-events or by calling (480) 782-2665. The parade is part of the 55th annual Tumbleweed Tree Lighting, which begins 4:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in downtown. The parade begins at 7 p.m."
