Great Harvest Bakery - Bakery Bingo Contest!

If you haven't visited Great Harvest Bakery , you really are missing out on a Valley gem!

You can stop by the bakery @ 1730 East Warner Road in Tempe at the NW corner of McClintock or get Great Harvest products at one of the local farmer markets.

I'm a low carber and when the low carb diet craze dwindled , many markets stopped carrying low carb bread products and alternatives. Great Harvest uses a nice variety of grains, so not super low carb , but you can still find enjoyable , semi-low carb, healthy grain options - especially their batter breads - and the slices are a decent size.

One of my low carb favorites for bread is the Chompies Cinnamon Raisin Low Carb bread. I like to toast it crispy with a bit of butter (or spray butter ) and a dusting of sugar alternative and cinnamon. It tastes absolutely fantastic and goes perfect with a cup of coffee. Another tasty topping I enjoy is the low carb toast with a bit of cream cheese.

You can enjoy a slice of the Great Harvest batter bread for a minimal amount of carbs. The apple cream cheese cake bread is 16 carbs per slice with one fiber, making it 15 net carbs for a nice treat.

I made myself hungry just typing about bread! I hope to get out to Sprouts or Great Harvest sometime this week to restock my favorite breads.
