L.J. Reed Obituary: View L.J. Reed's Obituary by East Valley Tribune: "Reed, L.J.
L.J. Reed peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Tall Pines Care Center in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. He was 67 years old. L.J. was born, one of twin sons, to Tom and Dortha (Gallion) Reed on August 8, 1944 in Dumas, Desha County, Arkansas. " He moved to Arizona nearly 52 years ago when he was 15 years old. L.J. was a leader in his field of electrical engineering and obtained several patents during his 32 year career at Motorola Semiconductors, where he served as a Corporate Vice President. In retirement L.J. continued in his field with consulting and development of new technologies. L.J. was also prominent in the community serving 6 years as the Mayor of the Town of Gilbert. L.J. is survived by his former wife, Jayne Pauline Reed; 2 children, Tracy Lynn (Keith) Remlinger of Austin, Texas, Douglas Patrick (Shannon) Reed of Chandler, Arizona; and 4 grandchildren. Along with his parents, L.J. was preceded in death by his twin brother, T.J. Reed and younger brother, Albert Lee Reed. A private family service was held on September 10, 2011 where L.J. was laid to rest at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
