Mesa Public Schools works hand-in-hand with homeschooling families by offering a variety of classes, curriculum materials, enrichment activities and online programs to meet their needs."

Eagleridge Enrichment Program

Eagleridge second-graders create nocturnal-diurnal wheels for their desert-animal studies.
The Eagleridge Enrichment Program provides on-campus enrichment classes, Monday through Friday, for kindergarten through eighth-grade students from throughout the Valley.
Students have the option of attending one or more days per week to take classes such as The Art of Public Speaking, Skateboard Science, Shakespeare for Kids and much more.
Eagleridge also offers computer science classes, physical education, band, dance and up to 70 additional class titles per semester.

Parents who have children enrolled at Eagleridge can check out curriculum, free of charge, through the program. And parent workshops are offered each month to help homeschoolers learn new strategies for teaching math and language arts.

Mesa Distance Learning Program

Along with the many options available through Eagleridge, Mesa Public Schools also provides an online program. The kindergarten through sixth-grade portion of the Mesa Distance Learning Program (MDLP) serves homeschooling families throughout the state, free of charge. Families who do not live in Arizona have the option of taking classes through MDLP for a fee. The program provides fee-paid classes for students all over the world.

The seventh- through 12th-grade portion of MDLP provides courses for homeschooling, credit-recovery and early high school graduation. Ninth- through 12th-graders earn class credit, which is accepted by most Arizona public and charter schools.

MDLP offers more than 90 interactive, multimedia-rich online classes taught by highly qualified Mesa Public Schools teachers. MDLP has been approved as a National Collegiate Athletic Association nontraditional core-course provider for prospective NCAA students.

Enrollment

Well over 11,000 students took classes through MDLP last school year, 300 of whom, in grades K-12, were homeschooled students. Eagleridge serves more than 550 K-8 homeschooled students annually. Both Eagleridge and MDLP provide homeschoolers the option of being part-time students. And homeschoolers can enroll in both programs at the same time.
