Bye-bye, monsoon -- at least officially: "Flagstaff's monsoon was officially over last week, and the first day of what's expected to be a generally warm, dry fall officially starts Friday.
But there is still some moisture in the air -- the forecast through the rest of the week calls for a slight chance of thunderstorms most days.
Even with quarter-sized hail last week and some stretches of heavy rain, Flagstaff's water collection was down by about 15 percent compared to 30-year averages, at 8.4 inches received during this monsoon season."
