"Taylor House Century Ride set for Saturday"


Sponsored by Dell and Absolute Bikes, the 11th annual Taylor House Century Ride is set for Saturday.


As always, the proceeds will benefit The Taylor House, a special home away from home for the families of patients who are being cared for at Flagstaff Medical Center.


The 95-mile mountain route begins at Flagstaff Medical Center and winds through historic Flagstaff, Wupatki and Sunset Crater national monuments, and back to FMC. For those who want a full 100-mile ride, there is an additional 5-mile loop at Sunset Crater. For less-avid riders, 65-, 45- and 30-mile loops area available. All riders should beware of the "killer hill.""


More than 350 cyclists are expected to participate in this annual ride, which begins with a 
group start at 7 a.m.; check in is at 6 a.m. Riders leave from FMC, west campus parking lot
, near the corner of Beaver Street and Forest Avenue.

Registration is $60 per person. The first 350 registered cyclists will receive a 2011 
commemorative T-shirt and water bottle. All riders are invited to celebrate their 
accomplishment with catered barbecue provided by Sodexo at the end of the ride.
