Feds sue Bass Pro claiming discrimination in hiring - East Valley Tribune: Money - East Valley Business, Tech And Consumer News: "Bass Pro Shops is denying claims by the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that it discriminated against black and Hispanic job applicants and retaliated against employees who opposed the practice.
The federal lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Houston. The complaint alleges that managers at Bass Pro stores in the "Houston area, Louisiana and elsewhere" made overtly racially derogatory remarks acknowledging discriminatory practices, including that hiring black candidates did not fit the corporate profile.

The EEOC also says Bass Pro "unlawfully destroyed or failed to keep records and documents related to employment applications and internal discrimination complaints," a claim the company said it vigorously denies. Bass Pro says the agency has not revealed details about the basis of the claim.
The company operates a Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store in Mesa."
